To celebrate designer Oika Toikkas 50th, Iittala reintroduces a selection of the most popular pieces from his original 1964 dewdrop collection. The idea of using droplets of glass as decoration came to Toikka when he was thinking of ways of covering the joint marks left on the surface of pressed glass pieces by the production process. The result is a glistening collection of timeless objects of beauty.

The contemporary, clean design of this porcelain mortar and pestle provides not one but two receptacles for grinding herbs and spices. The main bowl is perfect for crushing and grinding larger quantities of ingredients, or even several at once. The lid, when inverted, provides a neat hand-held mortar - ideal for grinding smaller amounts of herbs and spices.
